Ordinary browsing

Fonts and interface assets are served with the website. A privacy banner offers equally accessible Allow analytics and Decline analytics choices. Google Analytics is not loaded before you allow it. Necessary website delivery and security do not depend on analytics consent.

DigitalOcean hosts the website, and Cloudflare provides content delivery, TLS, tunnel connectivity and security. These providers may process technical requests and security logs even without analytics cookies. Cloudflare may use security cookies when its protection features require them. Cloudflare may also automatically load its performance beacon to measure page-load and connection performance. This is separate from optional Google Analytics and is not controlled by the Google Analytics consent choice. Access through a private corporate network is also subject to that network provider’s arrangements.

Remembering your choice

We store your analytics choice and its timestamp in localStorage under drl-cookie-choice-v2 for up to 180 days. This storage remembers acceptance or refusal and is not used to track browsing. Your choice is specific to this browser and website origin. If storage is unavailable, your choice applies only to the current page; if you delete it or it expires, we ask again.

Google Analytics cookies

After consent, Google Analytics may set first-party _ga and _ga_FE926MH535 cookies to distinguish browsers and maintain session information. Our tag configures a 180-day cookie lifetime without extending that lifetime on each visit. Browser restrictions or deletion may shorten it. Cookie lifetime is different from the retention of data already received by Google.

Analytics can measure page views, scrolls, site searches and other interactions supported by the Google Analytics property. Page URLs, referrers and query parameters may be included. Advertising features and Google signals are disabled. We do not add LinkedIn, Snitcher or advertising pixels to the new website. With analytics consent, sessionStorage key drl-enquiry-journey-v1 also holds a limited recent navigation history in this tab, expiring after four hours. It is attached only when you send an enquiry and is cleared if you decline analytics. Select Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice at any time. Declining after acceptance disables Analytics, clears accessible first-party Analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop the loaded tag. This does not delete records already received by Google. Use the contact details in our Privacy Policy for requests about your information.

Optional YouTube videos

Some articles offer a YouTube video. No YouTube player is loaded until you select Load YouTube video. Loading it connects your browser to Google/YouTube, which receives technical information such as your IP address and may use cookies or similar storage for the player. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain, but this does not mean playback is anonymous or free of all storage.

Your choice applies to that player and is not saved as a site-wide preference. You can select Unload video to remove the player and stop further embedded requests from it. This does not undo data already transmitted or clear storage already set by YouTube; use your browser settings to remove that data. You can instead open the video directly on YouTube. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to its processing.

External links

Email, Google Calendar scheduling and social links open external applications or websites when selected. Those services may use their own cookies under their own policies. Merely displaying those links does not load their embedded widgets on this website.

Managing storage and future changes

You can review and delete cookies and site storage through your browser settings and manage optional analytics through Cookie settings.
